The future of interiors

We were thrilled to receive eporta’s and WGSN’s trend analysis for 2017/2018.

Many of the insights mirror what we’re seeing in people’s homes and echo the interior design choices that are being made in residences across our working patch, notably:

  • Botanical prints are still on the rise.

  • Statement surfaces are bold and bright. As a decorating company, for us, that means distinctive patterned tiles and wallpapers, but the trend extends to other surfaces such as furniture and counter tops too. The report states: “Pastels and bolder colours have switched roles. Softer palettes are now a popular choice for accessories while bolder colours are chosen for larger areas. There has also been a shift towards matte, powdered finishes as opposed to gloss or satin options.”

  • Colour-choice-wise, green and copper have overtaken blue and brass, but yellow is the hottest colour – the fastest growing searched colour on eporta’s site. “Warm honey tones with a tactile and vintage feel are the most popular” such as the hue of this gorgeous chair from Florrie & Bill.
